Pregnancy / Newborn
This category has lots of information about pregnancy planning and what happens during both pregnancy and labour. It also covers common problems that can affect newborn babies. Our doctor-authored leaflets will answer questions such as “How do I prepare to get pregnant?” (yes, some planning is a good idea!), “What screening tests will I be offered and do I have to have them?”. Many women can have anxieties about labour and knowing what will happen and what your options are for pain relief for example, can help ease those worries. Information regarding common (as well as less common) pregnancy problems and how they are dealt with is also found here.
If your children are unwell, it can be a very worrying time. It isn’t always easy to remember everything your doctor tells you and you may need reliable, doctor-authored leaflets to help get you through. This section has information on all conditions that affect children, except the most rare, from coping with nappy rash or a high temperature appropriately, to routine vaccinations or baby colic, through to the really frightening (“Could it be meningitis?”). You can find information about the symptoms and check the available treatments in this section.
